Getting More Out Of The Edge Controller Than Most Owners Do

Sophisticated, but not complicated

The Edge controller runs everything and the app is deliberately simple on the surface. Pick a colour, pick a pattern, save it. The depth is there when you want it and stays out of the way when you do not.

Start with zones

This is the feature people skip and then love. Splitting the property into front, garage, patio and pool means each area can run its own look at the same time. Warm white across the front while the back runs colour for a party is a single setup, not a compromise.

Layer timers underneath events

Set a daily timer for your everyday look, then layer calendar events over the top for specific dates. The system falls back to the everyday scene automatically when the event ends. Set it once in January and it handles the whole year.

Use custom RGB values

Long pressing a colour circle opens the full spectrum, and you can type exact values. Worth doing once properly for a team or a brand rather than approximating from the standard palette every time.

Music sync

Connect through the auxiliary port and the lights move with whatever is playing. It sounds like a party trick and turns out to be one of the most used features on patios and around pools.

Remote access

Cloud connected means the system is reachable from anywhere. Light the house before you arrive, change a scene from the office, or vary the pattern while you are away so the property looks occupied.

Save more scenes than you think you need

Scenes are free. Build one for each holiday, one for game day, one for dinner outside, one for when guests arrive. Recalling a saved scene takes a tap. Rebuilding it from scratch every time is what makes people stop bothering.
